SYDNEY, October 29.

The captain and crew of the Glimpse had onl/ a keg of water, which proved to be salt, anl some raw potatoes, upon which they enbaistel for eight days. At length they hailed a pasting steamer and were rescued. The men sufferel terrible privations in an open boat, principal!/ from thirst.

Peter Marshall died at Pyrmont of smallpox, and another case has been reported from tbs same locality. The fatal epidemic at Kangaroo grounds is said to bo much exaggerated, and is pronounced to be a form of typhoid fever of an aggravated type.

Some Temora reefs are yielding well. At Copeland’s claim one hundred ounces to the ten are reported to have been obtained.
