GOOD TEMPLARY.
The Hope of Ohrhtohurch Lodge held its quarterly session in tho Templar Hall, Worcester street, on Tuesday. After disposing of the usual business the various officers read their reports. Tho report of the W.B. showed a small but encouraging increase, the number of memberß now in good standing being 138. The W.T. reported that after paying all demands there was a satisfactory balance to oommence the ensuing quarter. Bro. J. Buxton, D.G.W.0.T., assisted by Bros. Clarke and McGregor then prooeeded to install the officers as follows :—W.O.T., Bro. F. Corson (re-elected) ; W.V.T., Sis. O. Davis; W.S., Bro. G. Watson ; W.F.S., Bro. T. Harris ; W.T., Bro. Fulton; W. 0., Bro. H. J. Boss ; W.M., Bro. Buckland ; W.D.M , Sis. Barnett; W.1.G., Bro. Hiorns; W.0.G., Bro. Campbell: W.A.S., Bro. J. Hartle; W.R.H.S., Bro. Hill; W.L.H.S., Sis. Davis. The W.O.T. having acknowledged the honor of re election, votes of thanks were passed to the installing I officers. It was announced that the Providence Lodge, No. 103, Courtenay, would nay a fraternal visit next session. The entertainment oommittee drew attention to the item for next session, " An evening with Diokens." The quarterly distribution of prizes to the members of tho Hope of Lyttelton Juvenile Temple, for excellence in reading, reciting, and singing, took plaoe on Tuesday evening last, when Mr W. Reid, the superintendent, bestowed a suitable book upon eaoh of the following, as the Jsuccessful competitors. Girls—Minnie Barns, O. Olarkson, S. Danham, S. Bundey, M. Dompsey, B. Connell, M. Connell, M. Wilson, R. Coote, S. Blackley. Boys—W. Bennington, H. Fleningham, A. Taylor, W. Taylor, A. Querey, H. Wales. There was a large attendance of parents and visitors from the adult lodges, who expressed their approbation of the excellent rendering of the various pieces selected. The temple, whioh is in a satisfactory financial state, and admirably conduoted, has a total on the books of 135, with an average attendance of eighty members. The fifth anniversary tea meeting of the Northern Star Lodge was held on Wednesday evening. There was a good attendance at tea in the Oddfellows' Hall, After tea a meeting was held, at whioh the Mayor (Mr Blackwell) presided. Addresses were given by Bros. MoGregor, Dawson and Bimmonds, Messrs Heath, Hassall, and others. At intervals selections of sentimental music were given. At the close votes of thanks were Eassed to the speakers, the choir, and the idies who had provided the tea.
