[PBB PBESa ASSOCIATION.] AUOKLAND, November 3. Accident. A horse, with a trap attaohed, bolted in Wollesley street to-day. The trap collided with an iron pillar verandah, carrying it away. The occupants of the trap were thrown out and slightly injured. Foundation Stone. The foundation stone of the Wesleyan Church was laid yesterday with much ceremony. Only a PauperComplaints are made of the irreverent manner in which the pauper dead are buried. The coffins are frequently placed in the graves half an hour bofore the arrival of the clergyman. WESTPORT, November 3. The Colliers' Strike. The colliers' strike has ended, the miners having agreed to a fortnight's notice on both sides. WELLINGTON, .November 3. Anglo-Jewish Association. A branch of the Angio-Jowißh Association, the object of which is to promote education in the JEaßt, has been established here. Tobacco Culture. A Mr Edmonds, from Fiji, is here with excellent samples of tobacco leaf, grown in Fiji, and is trying to get a company formed to establish a tobacco manufactory here. He says he could supply fifty tons of leaf during the first year at from 9i to Is per lb, delivered here. The estimated capital required is £2OOO DTTNEDIN, November 3. Electoral. Mr Fish received a vote of confidence in the South Ward last night. He said he would support the Government generally, but censured them for not earlier acting on Mr Bryce's advice. He was an uncompromising free-trader and a secularist in education, and would vigorously oppose the introduction of the Bible ; also local option unless aooompanied by compensation. MARTON, November 3. Electoral. Sir William Fox addressed a crowded meeting last evening and received n unanimous vote of confidence and thanks.
