He was followed and the shirt found on him ; the vest was picked up amongst some drain pipes that were in his track after committing the theft. Bubnham School Children.— James John Dowey was charged with having failed to contribute to tho support of his child at Burnham School. He pleaded poverty. He said the girl was fifteen years and three months old. He had obtained an order from the magistrate to receive the girl, as her first term had expired, but, on presenting it, the master informed him that she had been re-committed for three yearo, which he thought was very unfair to him ; she might have been in service earning good wages, instead of his being called upon to maintain her. The magistrate said there must have been some good cause for her re-com-mittal, and the case was ordered to stand over, for enquiries, until November 16th,
