MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : THURSDAY, OCTOBER 27. Bor Akoroa and Otago, per Penguin, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m. ; guard’s van, 10.20 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 1.43 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, November sth, and will bo due in London on December 20th. Notick. —On and after Nov. 1, 1881, money orders will be issued in New Zealand payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist January next Money Orders will be issued in Now Zealand payable in the United States of America.
