The barque Marv Mildred, Captain Simpson, with a cargo o£ coal and timber, arrived yesterday from Newcastle, after a thirteen days* passage. The master reports meeting with little else but easterly weather after leaving New South Wales. lie headed for Cook’s Straits, but finding every indication of a continuance of head winds, ho let the vessel go to the southward, and came through Foveaux Straits. Up the coast southerly winds were carried to arrival. The Island City left Newcastle for this port the day before the Mary Mildred, and may be expected at any moment. The alterations in the U.S.S. Company’s timetable for November include the following:—The s.s. Alhambra leaves Melbourne on November Bth, arrives at Lyttelton ou the 17th, and proceeds North, for Melbourne, via Newcastle and Sydney. She is to reach Melbourne ou the 2Sth of November, and is to leave ou the 8 .1' Ji>Aceniber. The Albion leaves Melbourne to-day, to arrive here November 3rd. She will be followed by the To Anau on the 20th instant. On this Const, the Penguin changes with the Wanaka at Wellington on tho 2nd. The Wnnakn will convey the San Francisco moil North on November sth. On the 10th prox. the s.s. Taiaroa leaves Auckland for the Fiji Islands,
