THE ELECTIONS.
M-lUbet addresses the electors at the Kmghtatown Public Library this evening. Mr Thomsonwill also address the electors of Christ ohnrch North at the Gaiety Theatre to-night, and Mr Cowlishaw speaks at Bingsland. On Monday evening Mr W. P. Pearson addressed the electors in the Lobnm schoolroom. There were about seventy-five persona present, and the chair was taken by Mr C. A. Cunningbarn, who asked for a patient hearing for the candidate. Mr Pearson virtually repeated bis address at Oxford, and the electors present gave him a very patient hearing. At the conclusion or his address, a number of questions were naked and replied to, after which Mr Harwell proposed and Mr D. Brock seconded a vote of thanks to Mr Pearson for his address. Mr Pearson thanked the electors for thsir quiet hearing and returned thanks to the chairman for presiding.
[PEESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAMS. J AUCKLAND, October 25. Mr Dargavillo publishes an address to the electors of City West. THAMES, October 25. Election matters are exciting some interest Mr Sheehan issues an address to-day. Messrs Speight and McCullough (editor of the “Star”), Cadman, Brodie, and Jas. Mackay are candidates for Coromandel. DUNEDIN, October 25. A requisition is in course of signature to Mr W. D. Stewart, asking him to stand for Dunedin West.
The Dunedin West electoral roll contains 1242 names ; South, 1061 ; Central, 1300; East, 935; Peninsula, 899; Cavershnm, 656. Captain P. W. Mackenzie is a candidate for Mataura.
INVEECAEGILL, October 25, Mr J. P. Joyce, one of the candidates for Awarua, addressed a large meeting of tho electors at Clifton to-night, and was accorded a vote of thanks. He announced that if returned he would bo found in opposition to the present Government.
