Mails close at the Chief Post OEcs for the 'allowing places (subject io the necessary alterations) rr under : THURSDAY, OOTOBEE 27. For Akaroa and Otago, per Penguin, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard’s van, 10.20 a.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Arawata, at 1.45 p.m.; late fee letters, 2 p.m.; guard’s van, 2 40 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, November sth, and will be due in Loudon on December 20th. Notice. —On and after Nov. 1, 1881, money* orders will be issued in New Zealand payable at any town in Germany, and after Ist January next Money Orders will bo issued in New Zealand payable in tbe United States of America.
