Signor Matteuoci, the Italian traveller, who for several years has been engaged in exploring the interior of Africa, and who travelled from tho Bed Sea to the Guinea Gulf in company of Lieutenant Massare, of the Royal Italian Navy, died recently. He was on his way homo after an absence of several years. It is reported that a marriage has bean arranged between the Infanta Eulalie, sister of Dan Alfonso, and tho King’s brother-in-law, the Archduke Charles of Austria. In the meantime the royal household of the Palais de Castillo is making preparations for removing to Dieppe, where a villa has been taken for tho Queen. Tho Prussian Government has ordered the provincial authorities to send detailed information of the extent and cause of emigration, which, however, has somewhat slackened in some districts.
