The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Friday, October 14th, were as follows Spirits, £!94 0a 9d ; wine, £l7 14s; sugar, £32 11a 7d; tea, £ll3 9s ; ad valorem, £l7O 17a ; other duties, £sl ISs 6d. Total, £670 11a Bd. PEOPEETY SALE. On Saturday last, at the Land and Estate Sole Booms of Messrs H. Matson & Co., Cashel street, a sale was held. The audience Was a large one, and a great amount of excitement was evinced in the sale of 20 sections (containing about i-acre each) land situate on the old Stanmore road, and for which sharp competition and activity was shown in the bidding. Giving an average of £64 13s per section, or £517 4s per acre. Thirteen acres land, situate on the Bush Inn road, near the property of Mr Goo. King, sold for £630. Several other properties were passed in, bat sales are pending. Total sales, £1943
