Smith’s put was not beaten, so that Ollivier and Robinson had to take their three_ ties. Robinson, as will bo seen, came within two inches of the winner, but failed to go beyond, and the event resulted as above.

One Mile Flat Race. A. S Baker ... 1 J. W. Davis ... ... ... 2 M. Davie, Mathias, Longden and M. Lewin also ran. A good spurt between Davis and Baker ensued, but the latter held the lead until in the third and last lap, where Davis got it at the turn for home. School of Agriculture 1 Amateur Athletic Club... ... 0 This was a most exciting contest. Each party did their level beet, and for a few seconds the victory hung in the balance. The School team, however, at last managed to get their opponents over the crease, and won the tug amidst loud and continued cheers. Half-mile Handicap Flat Race. F. N. Robinson (scratch) ... 1 G. H. Holmore (20yds) 2 C. W. Miles (scratch) ... ... 3 Robinson and Miles, who were at scratch, gave a good account of their distance men before a quarter of a mile had been gone. Helmore, who had twenty yards start, kept a good second, though Miles made a plucky effort at the run in to get before him. Time, 2min ISsec. Steeplechase (about one mile). A. 8. Baker 1 H. A.
