After the conclusion of the racing arrangements were made for the presentation of prizes, a square being formed by those present, within which a table was placed, on which were displayed the various cups and trophies. Mr Oorfe, the head master, prefaced the ceremony by a few remarks, stating that a larger number of prizes had been given this year than on any previous occasion. While this was satisfactory to the stewards and promoters of the sports, it bore the gratifying significance that the friends of the school still maintained a kindly interest in these annual gatherings. There was only one unpleasant feature in connection with these meetings, and that was the parting from many of the elder boys, who would not return to their accustomed places after the vacation. In this connection he might mention the name of Studholme, who he was sure they would all wish success in his future career at Oxford. The prizes were then presented by Mrs Corfe, the recipients being loudly cheered by their fellow scholars.
