I'he Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Monday, October 10th, wore as follows : Spirits, £BO 4a lid ; tobacco, £43 18s 6d ; cigars, £lB 5s 6d ; wine, £26 10a ; beer, £8 3a <}d ; sugar, £93 16s ; tea, £72 9a 4d ; goods by weight, £l2 ■Ss 6d ; ad valorem. £399 15a; other duties, £l6 7a 9d. Total, £794 6a 2d. At the usual sitting of the Waste Lands Board, held at Christchurch on Monday, October 10th, sales were made as follows: — Ordinary: Ashley, 62a Or 15p; Solwyn, 27a 2r ■6p; Ashburton, 8a Or 35p; Geraldine, la Or 22p; Waimate, 98a 2r 3lp Total acreage sold, 197 a3r 7p. Total cash received, £395 lls 9d. Refunds on account of former purchases were made in the amount of £136 14s 6d. PBOPERTr SALE. On Tuesday, at Messrs Matson, Buss and Co.’s auction sale room, Eangiora, the building in High street formerly by the Bank of New Zealand, with quarter-acre, was sold for £455 ts Mr J. Fulton ; and the quarter-acre opposite the Lion Hotel, with shop thereon, was sol dto Mr P. McGrath for £SOO. Two oneeighth of an acre sections near the Plough Inn realised £2O each.
