Total reserve in notes and bullion in the Bank of England is £10,300,000. The Bank rate of discount is 5 per cent.; market rate, 4J. Colonial hreadstnffs are without quotable change. Adelaide wheat, ex store, 595; New Zealand ditto, 57s Adelaide flour, ex warehouse, 42s 6d. Australian tallow is firm at 39s fid for best beef; 43s for best mutton. Best Scotch pig iron has farther advanced 11s per ton; No. 1, f.o.b. in Clyde, is quoted to-day at 655.

A third series of wool sales closed today. The final catalogue comprised 7900 hales, for which a firm demand was experienced, making a total of 340,000 bales offered since the opening. 28,000 bales have been withdrawn, and 45,000 are held over for the next series, which commences on November 22nd.
