ReassuringThe Sultan has explained to Earl Dufferin, the British Ambasador, that the Commission which he has dispatched to Egypt is merely one to the Khedive of a friendly nature, and is not charged to enquire into the recent military outbreak. CAPETOWN, October 4. The Boer ConventionTelegrams to hand to-day from Pretoria announce that the Select Committee appointed to decide upon the ratification or rejection of the Anglo-Boer Convention, has made its report to the Volksraad to a secret sitting, which is now being held. The deceion of the committee has, therefore, not transpired.
