ACCIDENTS.
—On Tuesday morning Mr Wm. Thompson, of Killinchy, in catching his horse, received a kick in the thigh, causing a compound fracture. Dr. Malone was immediately sent for, and reduced the fractured limb.—On Friday several accidents occurred. Mr Greening, of Doyleston, was driving some cattle to the Loeston sale, when his horse fell on top of him, bruising him severely, but not seriously.—Mr Thos. Griffiths, of Lakeside, was standing in a pen where a cow and calf were being sold. A dog was annoying the cow, and she rushed it, and missing the dog caught Mr Griffiths in the thigh, inflicting ft large and dangerous wound. The services of Dr. Malone not being available at the moment, Dr. Guy attended to the wounded man. Dr. Malone having been telegraphed for want down with all haste, and found that the treatment was satisfactory. Mr Griffiths, who lost a quantity of blood, was removed to the residence of Dr. Chapman, where he will remain till strong enough to be removed home. —A bicyclist going home from the Leeston sale also had a narrow escape from a cow, who rushed him. He stated that he never travelled so fast in his life, but the energy of the stockman materially assisted his escape.
