The weather was threatening in the morning, but cleared up, and the afternoon was fine. The racing was very good, but there was little betting. Maiden Plate, 40 sova, H miles. Mr O’Brien’s Tasman, 7st 51b (W. Butler) 1 Mr Webb’s Gold Dust, 7st 51b (Hawkins) 2 Three others ran. Won rather easily. Handicap Huedle Eace, 75 sovs, about two miles. Mr Butler’s Agent, 12st 41b ... (O’Connor) 1 Mr Lyford’s Bijou, 9st 7lb ... (Clifford) 2 Mr Hobbs’, Swindler, lOst ... (Owner) 3 Hunnington also ran. Hunnington led over the first hurdle, followed by Agent, Bijou, and Swindler. Hunnington held a long lead at the third hurdle, which he ran round and lost all chance. The other positions were not altered. Publicans’ Handicap of 80 sovs, li miles. Mr Butler’s Luna, Bst 31b ... (Eudings) 1 Mr Lunn’s Coldstream, 6st 71b (P. Butler) 2 Mr Robinson’s On Dit, Bst 91b ... (Derritt) 3 Don Juan, Hilda, and Joker also started. There was a splendid race between the first three, Luna winning by a bare length, the same distance separating On Dit. County Plate of 40 sovs, H miles. Mr Mnndell’s Robinson Crusoe, Bst 7ib ... 1 Won on the post by a bare head. A hack race and hurry scurry wound up tho day’s proceedings.
