NEW PLYMOUTH, September 29. The Reported Attack on DaniellsWith reference to Danielle’ story re his encounter with the Maoris at Eahotu, it may be stated that Danielle is a respectable young man, and his story is perfectly reliable. He could have no object in inventing it. Danielle, with his brother, has recently purchased land at Bahotu, and they were engaged until the event happened in preparing their laud for tillage. They bad several men employed fencing their land. Danielle is not a man to be frightened by one or two Maoris, being powerfully built, neither is ho one who is likely to invent a story of the kind. Hie statement can no doubt be easily verified if necessary. Danielle, it is believed, comoe from Wanganui.
