MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER, 29. For Akaroa, per Wanaka, at 9.40 a.m.; late fee letters, 9.50 a.m.; guard’s van, 10,20 a.m. train. For Otago, per Albion, at 11.30 a.m.; late fee ettera, 11.40 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. rain. For Northern Ports, per Rotorua, at 1.45 i.m. ; late fee letters, 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 >.m. train. FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 30. For Bruce Bay, Haast River, and Jackson’s lay, per West Coast mail, to connect at Hokiika with s.s. Waipara, at 7.30 a.m. SATURDAY, OCTOBER 1. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, ndia, China, &c., via Brindisi (for specially adressed correspondence only), Australian Coloies, per express train, to connect with s.s. totomahana at Port Chalmers, as follows : hrdinary letters, at 7 a.m.; books and newsapera, 6 a.m.; registered letters, on Friday, leptembor 30th, at 5 p.m. Lata fee letters may e posted in the travelling Post office attached o the express train on Saturday, October Ist. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via an Francisco, will bo closed at Christchurch on aturday, October Bth, and will be due in .ondon on November 22nd. Note—On and after Monday, September 26th, post-office will be opened at Flemington, neat .shbnrton.
