At the wool sale to-day, 10,100 bales were offered. A firm demand was experienced; fine to finest qualities now rule (?) higher than at the close of last sales. Mark of Respect. Business was partially suspended today in this city, and in many towns in England, as a mark of respect to the memory of the late President Garfield on the occasion of hie funeral at Cleveland. The Mails. The New Zealand and Australian mails via Suez and Brindisi, were delivered here to-day. WASHINGTON, September 26. Th« President’s Funeral. The funeral of the late President Garfield took place to-day, at Cleveland, in Ohio State. There were fully 17,000 visitors from all parts of the country for the occasion, and enormous crowds of residents were also present. The funeral procession was most imposing. Among those forming the same were Secretary Hayes and the members of the Cabinet, large numbers of the members of Congress, asd 1,500 notable personages, including the representatives of foreign countries. The utmost reverence was shown throughout the ceremony by the multitudes present. Business during the day was entirely suspended throughout the United States.
