A wholesome looking Clyde bnilt barque, the Cooloon, of 62S tons register, arrived yesterday from Glasgow, after a passage of 1 1 S days. She brought no passengers, but is the bearer of a full cargo of hardware, drainage pipes, and general merchandise. The voyage was an uneventful one, very little stormy weather being experienced, and no remarkable circumstance occurring to interrupt the monotony of a rather lengthy passage under canvas. The Uooleen is commanded by Captain Matthew Barkley, whoso father, a resident of Belfast. Is the owner of the ship. Ho has commanded her since she was launched from the builders’ yards (Messrs John Elder and Co.), of Glasgow, in 1876, and has chiefly traded to the "West Coast of Sonth America. Captain Barkley brought his vessel into harbor in beautiful order, everything about her looking as “ fresh as paint.” The cabin accommodation on board is not extensive, bat it is.'snbstantial.aad in all respects sufliciont for either the trade in which the vessel was engaged, or the intercolonial trade. There are several enclosed cabins in the saloon, well furnished and commodious, and the vessel is finished more with a view to durability and comfort than for stylishness. A summary of the voyage ns follows was supplied by Captain Barkley Loft Tail of the Bank Juno 6th, Itad moderate N.E. trades, and crossed the Line on July 10th. The S.E. trades were poor, and held but for two or three days. Off Bahia the vessel •was for a week heating against strong southerly and S.W. winds. Tristan d’Acnuha was passed August sth, Cape of Good Hope August 13th, Kerguelen Island August 23th, and the meridian of Cape Leuwin September 7th, A very heavy gale from the W.N.W. being met with the day previous, during which the vessel was hove-to for twelve hours. Soundings were found off the Snares on the night of the 17th instant, and from there light bafliing winds prevailed right up the coast.
