The Maoris are hemmed in on every side by the Europeans, and if you fight and kill all the menin the camp hundreds of Europeans will conn and take their places. The result is that you will be killed and the pakeha will have all the land.” The young men were mflumced by To Whiti’s words and did not mak( the raid they intended. Last evening Te Vitere, of Mokau, had an interview with the Native Minister with reference to the fche opening of Mokau block and the sitting of the land Court in that district.
