New Zealand securities remain unchanged, at tho following quotations :—Five per Cent. 10.40 Loan, 102£ ; Five per cent. 1889 Loan, 102 i; Four and a Half per Cent. 18791904 Loan, 99J. Adelaide and New Zealand breadstuffs are without any quotable change. Australian tallow remains at yesterday’s quotations. Wool Sales. At the wool sale to-day 6500 bales were offered. A firm and active demand was experienced. WASHINGTON, September 21. The late President. Telegrams to hand from Longbranch announce that the body of the late President will leave for Washington to-day, where an inquest will be held on Friday, and on Saturday his remains will be conveyed to Cleveland, Ohio. The result of the post-mortem examination shows that tho ball had fractured Ms ribs and shattered the vertebra) of the backbone, finally lodging below the pancreas gland of the liver, where it was found, completely encysted. The immediate cause of death was rupture of the mesenteric artery in the cavity of the abdomen. There is general mourning throughout the States, and basin ess is everywhere suspended.
