A sad event is reported from Ail College. Some masters joking after dinner came to quarrelling, and one, M. Guidevaux, shot his colleague, M. Jussaud, dead with a revolver. The murderer was immediately disarmed and arrested. The excitement throughout England concerning the Irish Land Bill is very great. It has been announced that if the Bill be lost the Government intend to call Parliament together in the autumn, when the measure will again be introduced. A priest was murdered recently at Qaunat, Prance, by a fanatical free thinker. The victim was carrying the elements of the holy sacrament through the street to a dying man when he was grossly insulted aud suddenly stabbed several times with a knife. The priest was with some difficulty rescued from the criminal, but died soon after reaching the hospital. Captain Kirwan, an Irishman, has recently published a letter warning the Fenians in the United States against any scheme for the invasion of Canada, and declaring that the Irish population of the Dominion find no fault with the Crown or Constitution of Great Britain, and would therefore feel bound to protect their country.
