PROPERTY SALE.

The auction sale of properties whioh was advertised for last Saturday, the I7th, at Messrs H. Matson and Co.’s salerooms, was postponed till Monday, 19th, in consequence of the funeral of the late W. S. Moorhonse. Ac 2 o’clock Mr J. T. Matson entered tho auctioneer’s box, and after descanting upon tho laige number of properties which were about to be offered in the estate of the late Mr T. M. Hassal, which are distributed over the districts of Selwyn, Winslow, _ Lyttelton township, Ashbnrt m township, and in Christchurch, started the sale by offering a house on the old Stanmore road, which sold for .£35. Then followed 50 acres at Malvern in the centre of the coal district, which was passed in at £24 per acre. 3 hen followed 21 sections in the Ashburton township, every one of which, were sold, and the following are the prices fetched—No. 300 and 300, situate in Burnett street, £52 10s each ; No. 29G and situate in Havelock street, £si IPs each; Nos. 310, 311, 316 and 31S in Havelock street, .£SO each ; Vo 675, in Havelock street, £55 ; Nos. 659 and 704, situate in Cameron street, £6O each ; Nos. 706 and 732, situate in Wills street, £55 10s >ach ; No. 764. situate in Peters street, £BO ; No. 746, situate in Peters street, £54; No. 751, situate in Peters street, £63 ; Nos. 818,'and 842 situate in Aitkeo street, £55 each; Nos, 828 ■md 822, situate in Cox street, each £55; No. 711, situate in Wills street, £IOO. Two seotiona with frontages on Cashel street and Bedford How, sold for £9OO. Total gale, £2X46.
