Ths schoonor Cleopatra arrived at G.-oymouth to-day after a protracted passage from N iphr of 23 days. The Government steamer Stella. Captain Fairchild, arrived at ten o’clock on Saturday morning from Wellington, bringing the body of the late Mr Moorhouse, M.H.R., and a few passengers. Captain Fairchild reported passing through very dense fogs along the coast. He also reported seeing a considerable quantity of drift timber outside the Heads, such as might be taken to have been the deck cargo of some coasting vessel. From this report, the timber would probably be some of that lost by the sehoonor Enterprise, a few days ago. The Stella took her departure for Wellington on Saturday night, at half-past ten o’clock. She loft San Francisco on the 23th ult., and made the passage in nineteen days thirteen hoars forty-six minutes. The Hawea, with the inward Saa Francisco mail, arrived at five this morning, and left’direct for Wellington and Lyttelton at six o’clock. Passengers—Mr Dergilly, and the steward, stewardess, and purser of the steamer Tui. Bluff, September 19. The Arawata, Captain Sinclair, from Melbourne arrived at 7 am. She left Mel bourne on the 14th at 2.30 p m., cleared the Heads at 5 p.m., was abreast the Schank at 6.31) p m., and experienced N.W. winds till arrival.
