Two local pedestrians, Messrs Drummond end Wanfield, had a twelvo hours’ go as-you-pleaae match in the open air on Saturday, for £SO a side. Drummond was seized with cramp internally two hours after starting, but kept up for over nine hours. When ho had to give in Wanfield had done fifty-four miles. Farewell Dinner. The Union Steamship Company’s employes entertained Mr James Mills, managing director, who leaves for England on Tuesday, at a dinner last night. Several members of the board of directors were present.
