MAID NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Poet Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under:— SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 17. For Westport, per Hero, at at 3.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van 4 p.m. train. For Northern Porta, per Wanaka, at 7.30 p.m. The guard’s van must not be used for this mail. MONDAY, SErTEMBEB 19. For United Kingdom, Continent of Europe, Point de Gallo, India, China, Japan, the East? Aden, Mauritius, Suez, the Mediterranean Porta, &c., via Brindisi (for specially addressed correspondence only), Australian Colonies, and Otago, per Te Anan, at 1.45 p.m.; money orders and registered letters, at 12.30 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 2 p.m. ; guard’s van, at 2.40 p.m. train. Note. —There will be no supplementary mail for To Anan by express. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will bo closed at Christchnrch on Saturday, October Sth, nud will be due in London on November 22nd.
