Esqs., J.P.’s.] Dettnkennebs.— Joseph Kinley, for being drunk and disorderly, was fined ss. Wm. Nonkarois was dismissed on paying cab hire. Is. P. Parker was fined 10s, or forty-eight hours’ imprisonment, with hard labor. Neglected Ohudebn. —George A. Webb, aged eleven; Edith A. Webb, aged fire ; and Ernest W. Webb, aged three, were brought up under the Act of 1867. The police stated that their father is dead, their mother and sister are keeping a brothel, acd that the children have been neglected and allowed to run about the streets without being looted after. The eldest boy was sent to Burnham for four years, and the others for seven years each; to be brought up in the religion of the Church of England.

Stealing from the Pebsoh.— William Douglas and Mary Ann Greaves were brought up on remand from September 13th, charged with stealing £lB from William Quibell, on August 31st last, at Christchurch. On the application of the police the charge against the female prisoner was allowed to bo withdrawn. The man was remanded till next sitting of the Court.

Civil, Oases. —Peiper v Hansen, claim £1 5s for rent. Mr Douglas appeared for defendant. Judgment for,defendant,lwitfajcostg. Judgments went for plaintiffs, by default, in Jacobsen v Cane, £6 ss; Yeoman y Dodd, £7 6s 6d ; Collins v Doyle, £1 5s j Lest is and Offwood v Gilman, £1 8s ; Atkinson y Neno, £8 2s Id ; and Banks y O’Oallagban, 16a 3d. Atkinson v Davis was sojourned ;ill September 21st, Kennedy v Hamilton and Willis till September 23-d.
