Specials* Two hundred persons applied for olive truncheons, given by Sir George Grey, at the county offices this day. The supply was inadequate to the demand. WELLINGTON, September 15. Wreck AshoreThe remains of a boat, measuring about sixteen feet in length, were washed ashore at Island Bay yesterday. With the wreck there were found two life buoys painted white, three rowlocks, and one oar, with the word Napier appearing on the handle. The Dock Question.

At a meeting of tho Harbor Board, the graving dock committee reported that it was arranged that a letter should be sent to England to the principal firms for information with respect to floating docks, their coat, size, &c., it being the opinion of the committee that a floating dock would answer tho requirements of Wellington. It had also been arranged to write to Port Lyttelton, with a view to collect all available information respecting the dock building there.
