MAIL NOTICES.

Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the neooasary alterations) as under:— TUESDAY. SEPTEMBEE 13. For Otago, per Eotomahana, at 11.30 a.m. : late fee letters, 11.40 a.m.; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.30 p m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will be closed at Christchurch on Saturday, October Bth, and will be due in London on November 22nd. Notice. —On and after Ist September the mail service between Christchurch and Papanui will be twice daily, carried by tram cars. Mails will close at Christchurch at 8 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., and close at Papanui at 11.45 a.m. and 7 P ' m ' SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
