MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the_ Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under : SATURDAY. SEPTEMBER 10. For United Kingdom, Continents of Europe and America, West Indies, Cape oi Good Hope, Natal, (via San Francisco), Sandwich Islands, Northern Ports of New Zealand, &c., per Penguin, as follows: —Ordinary letters at 6.30 p.m.; late fee letters, at 7 p.m. ; books and newspapers, at 630 p.m.; money orders at 3 p.m. ; registered letters, at 5 p.m. ; guard’s van, 8.30 p.m. train. This mail will bo due in London on October 25th. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 13. ' (For Otago, per Rotomnhana, at 11.30 a.m. : lata fee letters, 11.40 a.m. ; guard’s van, 12.10 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Haweo, at 3.20 p.m.; lata fee letters, 3.30 p.m.; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. Notice. —On and after Ist September the mail service between Christchurch and Papanni will be twice daily, carried by tram cars. Mails will c!o?e at Christchurch at 8 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., and close at Papanni at 11.45 a.m. and 7 P SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
