The election for the vacant seat in the Ilonse of Commons for Connty Tyrone, Ireland, took place to-day, and resulted in the return of a Liberal by a narrow majority. A Parnellite, who was one of the candidates, was defeated by a largo majority. OTTAWA, September 8. Regatta PostponedThe International Regatta, which was to have taken place yesterday at Toronto, has been postponed until to-day, owing to unfavorable weather. AUSTRALIAN. [REUTER’S TELEGRAMS.] ADELAIDE, September 9. The MarketsWheat is quoted to-day at 5s 5d to 5s 6d ; the tone of the market is unchanged. Town flour, per ton, £l2 15s; country brands, £ll 15s. The tone of the freight market is firm. Freights to the United Kingdom—From Adelaide, 50s ; from outports, 52s 6d. Freights to London —For greasy wool, Id per lb.; scoured, lid.
