SITTINGS IN CHAMBERS. Tuesday, September 6. [Before His Honor Mr Justice Johnston.] His Honor sat in the Court Chambers at 11 a.m. ASHTON V GRUBB. In this case counsel stated that there was a probability of a settlement being arrived at, BE ANDREW MAHER. Mr Slater appeared herein and stated that the debt had been satisfied. He desired, therefore, to ask that the application for an order for adjudication might be dismissed. Mr McOounel appeared for the bankrupt. His Honor made an order dismissing the application. PBANCK V STEAD AND OTHERS. In this case, which was an action for infringement of the plaintiff’s patent in the totalisator, the issues came up for settlement. Mr Harper, for plaintiff, Mr Britten for Stead and others, and Mr Joynt for defendants (Hobbs and Goodwin), submitted issues in both cases, Franck v Stead and Franck v Hobbs and Goodwin. The issues as submitted were settled, and Tuesday, 25th October, by special jury, fixed for the trial ot the case ot Franck v Hobbs and Goodwin. The trial of the case of Franck v Stead and others to follow. EE PRANOEB MARY STRINGER, DECEASED. Mr Stringer applied herein for probate to William Stringer, as executor named.
