[kehtee’s TELEQKA.MS.I LONDON, September 2. The Frozen Meat. The mutton brought to this market in the .steamship Protoa is being sold at an average of G]d per lb. The Markets Consols have fallen -J-, and are quoted to-day at 99. New Zealand securities remain firm, at the following quotations:— Five Per Cent. 10-40 Loan/104; Five Per Cent. 1889 Loan, 102*; Four and a-half Per Cent. 1879-1904 Loan, 99}. Prices in the wheat market are declining, owing to finer weather. Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 575; New Zealand wheat, ex warehouse, 57s 6d; Adelaida flour, ex warehouse, 41s 6d. Total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain, 1,780,000 quarters. Australian tallow has advanced Is per cwt. Best beef, 375; best mutton, 39a. The total stock of tallow in London, 16,200 casks. Best Sydney Copra, per ton, £l4.
At the wool sales to-day 10,900 bales were catalogued, England and her Colonies.

NEW YORK, September 2. A Bad Look out. A severe drought is now being experienced throughout the States, and ia proving of serious consequence in pastoral and agricultural districts. The want of rain ia also being felt in Canada, where the dry weather has resulted in most destructive forest fires. Numerous farms have been burnt and farming stock and crops have been destroyed.
