MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following placets (subject to the necessary altera tiens) as under : SATURDAY, SEPTEMBEE 3. For Ktiikoura, per Jane Donglas, at 3.20 p.m.; late fee letters, 3.30 p m.; guard's van, 4 p.m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawea, at 7.30 p.m. The guard's van mnst not be used for this mail. Notice. —On and after Ist September the mail service between Christchurch and Papanni will ba twice daily, carried by tram cars. Mails will at Christchurch at 8 a.m. and 3.30 p.m., and close at Papanni at 11.45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Notice. —The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close en Saturday, September 10th, and will be due in London on October 25th.
