The Customs duties collected at Christchuroh on Tuesday, August 30th, were as follows : Spirits, .£315 8s lOd; tobacco, £9O 9s 6d; cigars, £44 4s 8d; wine, £7 17s 6d ; beer, £59 7s 6d; sugar, £54 9s 6d ; goods by weight, £34 8s 3d ; ad valorem. £l2O 19s ; other duties, £l4 8a 9d. Total, £73113s fid. COMMERCIAL TELEGBAMS. Dunkdin, August 31. Holders of wheat are now asking 4s 9d to 5s for milling. AUCTIONEEB'S BEPORT. Mb J. L. Wilson reports on his Saturday's sale of grain, produce and property:—Wheat— Three lots offered by auction sold at 3s 9d, rather thin; 4s 3d, middling sample ; 43 6d for really prime. Oats reached 2s 3d. Iho large quantity of really prime malting barley did not fetch owners' reserve, and was bought in. Flour—Some country brands sold at £10; a largo parcel of first-class quality was withdrawn. Bye grass reached 5s 9d, very good, and second-class 3s 9d; screenings, Is 9d per aack. Potatoes did not find buyers. The property at Templeton reached very near the owner's limits, and will probably lead to business.
