SITTINGS IN CHAMBERS. Fbidat, August 19. [Before His Honor Mr Justice Johnston. 3 His Honor sat in the Ocurt Chambers at 11 a.m. KB F. Q GABBABD, DECEASED. On the application of Mr Joynt letters of administration wore granted herein to James Kinsey. FBOBATB. Probate was granted in re R. E. Haworth, deceased (Mr Slater), re John Matthew Dean (Mr Bruges). OBDEBS OP DIBCITABGF. Orders of discharge were granted in Eraser and Co. (Ashburton), Freier and Co. (Mount Somen), Fraser and Dunlop (Mr Joynt), re James Robertson (Mr Bruges). THE QUEEN ON BBLATION OV B. B. WAICOT V. HOWBIIu Mr Harper applied herein for a rule nisi, calling upon the defendant to show by what right he has acted and still acts as a member of the Education Board, South Canterbury district. Prom the affidavits filed it appeared that an election for three vacancies on the Board took placo iu the ordinary way under the Act. The Geraldino Plat school committee sent in their voting paper in the usuil way, voting en bloc for tho Rev. Mr Barclay. Subsequently, and after the date appoisted in the Act for sending in tho lists, they forwarded a second voting paper containing tho name of tho present defendant, which resulted in the defeat of Waloot. It was also alleged that the secretary of one committee voted for thfc ci»n. didales without calling the committee together. Rule nisi granted, returnable in banco on the 26;h inst.
MILES AND 00. V GABDINBB. Mr Harper applied herein for an attachment of certain moneys coming to the defendant from the Longbeach Road Board. His Honor made the order.
EB J. WOOLAED, A DKBTOB. Mr G. Harper applied herein for an order to examine the arranging debtor under the Debtorß and Creditors Act, 1876. The trustee applied under section 144 to examine the arranging debtor as to certain property which it was alleged should come under the deed.
His Honor made the order as prayed.
