MAIL NOTICES.
Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as under FRIDAY, AUGUST 19. For Northern Porta of New Zealand and Australian colonies, via Sydney, per Wakatipu, at 3.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.30 p.m. ; guard’s van, 4 p.m. train. SATURDAY, AUGUST 20. For Greymonth, Hokitika, and Australian colonies, via Sydney, per Hero, at 3.20 p.m. ; late fee letters, 3.30 p.m. ; guard’s van, 4 p m. train. For Northern Ports, per Hawes, at 7.30 p.m. The guard’s van must not be need for tbis mail. MONDAY, AUGUST 22. For West Coast Sounds, per Express, to connect with s.s. Stella at the Bluff, at 7 a,m. Notice. —The next mail for the United Kingdom, via San Francisco, will close on Saturday, September 10th, and will be due in London on October 25th. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
