Consols are unchanged at IOOf-. New Zealand securities, unchanged, at last quotations. The Breadstnffs market is experiencing a firm and active demand. Adelaide and New Zealand wheat have each risen 2s, and are to-day quoted as follows :—Adelaide wheat, ex warehouse, 525; New Zealand wheat, ex ship, 51s 6d; Adelaide flour, ex warehonse, is quoted at 37s 6d, an advance of Is. The total quantity of wheat afloat for Great Britain is 1,320,000 quarters. Australian tallow, best b:ef, unchanged, at 34s 6d; best mutton has risen 6d, and is now at 36s 6d. The Irish Land Bill. The Irish Land Bill was again under consideration in the House of Lords today, when the original amendments made in committee were insisted on by large majorities. Earl Granville, in the course of the debate, solemnly protested against the action of the House of Lords. The Bill, as reamended, was however agreed to, and its reconsideration will be resumed in the House of Commons on Monday next. It is understood that the Government will firmly oppose the amendments of the House of Lords. August 13. The " Standard," in a leading article in to-day's issue, in reference to the Irish Land Bill, states that the moderate Conservatives in Parliament condemn the tactics of the Marquis of Salisbury and his followers in the House of Lords in delaying the passing of the measure. The French Treaty.

To-day, a motion condemning the import duties by Prance was, after a debate, rejected. In the conrse of the discussion, Sir Charles Dilke, UnderSecretary for Foreign Affaire, stated that the Government was determined to conclude no fresh commercial treaty with France which would act to the prejudice of British trade.
