Mails close at the Chief Post Office for the following places (subject to the necessary alterations) as underSATURDAY, AUGUST 6. For Northern Ports, per Wanaka, at 7.30 p.m. The late letter box, guard’s van, must not be need for this mail. TUESDAY, AUGUST 9. For Otago, Australian Colonies, and United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, via Brindisi (specially addressed correspondence only), per Eotomabana. at 1.45 p.m. ; late fee letters, at 2 p m. ; guard’s van, 2.40 p.m. train. Not’oe.—The next mail for the United Kingdom, &c , via San Francisco, will close on Saturday, August 13th. This mail will be duo in London on September 27th. Note.—From Ist August the Post-Office at Coalgate will be open for the issue and payment of money orders. SYDNEY J. DICK, Chief Postmaster.
