Candahar announcing that a battle was fought yesterday between the forces of Ayoub Khan and those of the Amoor, resulting in the defeat of tho lattor. One of the Amoor's roginients deserted and joined Ayonb Khan, and the rest of Abdnrrahmna's forcos fled, after losing all their guns and baggage. Later. Further telegrams from Afghanistan report that the battle between Ayoub Khan's and tho Ameer's troops was fought at Karezieatta (Karez-Ulriyar ?), a short distance south of Candahar. Since their defeat all tho Ameer's cavalry have joined Ayoub Khan, whose forces have been materially strengthened. Tho Ameer's garrison in tho city of Candahar is reported to be very weak, and unable to offer any strong resistance to Ayoub Khan. PARIS, July 28. Affairs in North Africa' News has been received from Tunis that, since tho capture of the town of Cabes, tho French forces have occupied tho Island of Gherba, in the Gulf of LONDON, July 28.
