[rexjter’s telegrams.] MELBOURNE, July 26. The BachanteH.M.S. Bacchante, having completed her repairs, sailed to-day for Sydney, to join the squadron. Sugar Advices. Mauritius advices announce that the engagements of sugar for the colonies are as follows : —For Adelaide, 200 tons ; Melbourne, 850; Sydney, 350. The present season’s crop is estimated to yield 125,000 tons. The growth of the cane is, however, reported as slow. BRISBANE, July 26. The Small Pox ScareThree cases of small pox in South Brisbane were reported to the authorities yesterday. Tho sufferers have been isolated, and the necessary precautions are being taken to check any spread of the disease.
