[PBB PBBBS ASSOCIATION.! TIMARU, July 19. Assault. At the Magistrate's Court this morning, Patrick Glanoy was charged with unlawfully wounding Tim McAuliffe, a well known amateur pedestrian. Prosecutor was too ill to appear, and the acouaed was remanded till Friday. Bail was nccepted, himself in £SO, and two sureties in £SO e aoh. J DUNBDIN, July 10. Action for Damages Mercer and Wife v the Queen, a claim fo £2OOO damages for injuries sustained through the alleged negligence of the Telegraph Department in leaving wire across the road, is being tried before a Bpecial jury. The Tramway Regulations. The Resident Magistrate decided that the Governor had no power to inflict a penalty for a breach of the tramway regulation, and dismissed the information against Proudfoot.
