The Customs duties collected at Christchurch on Tuesday, July 12th, were as follows Spirits, £216 Is 9d; tobacco, £lOl 13s 7d; wine, £32 2s ; tea, .£l6 13s 4d ; goods by weight, £390 7s Id; ad valorem, £174 14s. Total, £lO3l 11a Sd. AUCTIONEER’S REPORT. Mr C. T. Tck reports that ha has sold several largo lots of farm and dairy produce at public auction lately at the undermentioned prices : Flour (farmer’s gristing), £6 to £8 per ton ; barley meal, £ r > 15s to £6 10s ; sharps, £5 10s ; chick wheat, from 2s to 2s 5d per bushel; seconds barley, Is 6d to 2a per bushel; potatoes, 36s to 42s 63 per ton ; onions, in bags, £7 ; roped do . £9 to £lO per ton ; cheese, 3d to 4d per lb; batter, in kegs, 5d to Bd, according to quality ; apples. 10s per case ; bacon and hams, if sweet, 6d to 7d ; country cured, taints, 4d to sd. There is a gool demand at the present time for sound onions, and any brought forward sell readily at above quotations.
