[reuter’s telegrams.] LONDON, July 2. The Irish Land QuestionIn the House of Lords last night, a lengthy debate took place on the subject of the report of the Commission appointed at the instance of Earl Deegborough to enquire into the Irish land question, which had recently been tabled. The Duke of Argyle characterised the report as one-sided and altogether unreliable, and censured its recommendation in warm terms. Earl Granville condemned the discussion of the report at the present junction, and said he feared the tone of the debate which had taken place was a bad augury for the fate of the Irish Land Bill when it reached the House of Lords. The Homeward MailsThe homeward Australian and New Zealand mails, which left Auckland on May 24th, were delivered here to-day. VIENNA, July 2. Riots at PragueSerious riots have lately occurred at Prague, in Austria. The disturbances have been caused by a strong feeling which has shown itself of late on the part of the Austrian residents against the German section of the community. The riots are still occurring, and are causing much trouble to the authorities. PARIS, July 2. Panic in Tunis. The hostilities which recently occurred between French troops and the Arabs at Sfax, in Tunis, have caused a panic among the European residents, who are taking refuge on board the vessels in harbor. A further outbreak of the tribes is feared, as a holy war is being preached throughout the district. WASHINGTON, July 3. The Attempted Murder of President Garfield. The latest bulletin this morning regarding the health of President Garfield reports that the symptoms have improved, though the bullet has not yet been extracted. He slept well during the night, »nd has been able to take nourishing food. His spirits are cheerful. No feverish symptoms have been shown, the patient’s warmth being quite normal.
