[per press association.] DUNEDIN, July 2. Alleged Libel. Mr Massey, the town dork, has filed an information against Mr Thoms* Allan, seedaman, for alleged libel. The hearing is fixed for Thursday. Child Murder. At the inquest on the child {found in Princes street South, the jury returned a verdict of “ Wilful Murder ” against some person unknown, and added a rider urging the establishment of a morgue. NELSON, July 2. The Dido. There are no tidings of the schooner Dido, three weeks out from Lyttelton to Waratapu, in ballast, and all hopes of her safety ore now generally given up. It is thought that in the severe squalls which were experienced after her leaving Lyttelton the ballast must have shifted, and the vessel capsized. She was insured in the New Zealand office for £BOO, half of wh'oh was reinsured in the South British.
