Jolly husband (bracing up)—"Shtandin' on your head on t'shtaira ? Jenny, I'm shprised! How can I ? By Jove; can't! Two hours, too ? 'Stronary woman!"—"Cincinnati Gazette." This is the touching question addressed to the " Philadelphia Times " by a young contributor :—"Dear Sir, —Is once a week too often to call on a young lady when you are not engaged to her ? " The " Times "is oompolled to oonfeßß it doesn't know. Perhaps if the young man would call oftener it might lead to an engagement, and thus solve the riddle.
