The new St. Sepulchre’* Church was consecrated to-day. A thousand people were present, and Bishop Oowio and fifty-nine clergymen took part in tbe ceremony. The offertory amounted to £95. Its cost, complete, will be £4300, and it i* said to be tho handsomest wooden church in the colony. Local Cyclone. A whirlwind passed over Waiuku to-day rooting up trees and destroying fencing. The Royal Princes. A meeting was convened to-day to appoint, a reception committee to arrange for the entertainment of the Royal Prince*. The Mayor presided. WELLINGTON, June 29. An Unpleasant Position. The Marine Department received information from Picton thia morning that medical assistance was urgently needed at tho Brother* Lighthouse. It is not known what has hapDoned on tbe island, as the information waa sent by tho captain of the steamer Beautiful Star, who being unable to communicate with the shore proceeded to Picton to report. The Stella, with Dr. Johnston on board, has left for the Brothers.
MARION, June 29. Frozen MeatA largo meeting of stock owners was held at Bulls last night to consider the question of forming a company to export frozen meat from Wellington. Delegates were appointed to confer in Wellington with a committee appointed at Wairarapa to collect information and devise a suitable scheme for floating a company. DUNEDIN, June 29. Ship QuarantinedThe chief officer of the Charles Worsloy, ship, from Ljndon, died on the voyage out from disease, stated te bo chicken pox, of which there were two or three other cases, since recovered. The vessel baa been placed in quarantine. The voyage occupied 104 days. I and Grant. At the Land Board to-day 200 acres at Milford Sound were granted for mining for asbestos. Mining. There is a talk of all the claims in the famous Blue Spur being amalgamated into one company. The steam dredges on the Molyneux River and Tuapeka month have secured good prospects.
