COURSING.
PAPANUT COURSING OLTJB. A meeting of the above olub took place at the Sawyers' Arms Hotel, Papanui, on Saturday night laßt, Mr William Smith in the chair. Mr Turner as -judge and Mr William Beard as slipper, were re-appointed for the meeting. Mr J. Piper's name was added on the list of stewards, and a person was appointed to see that all gates and slip rails were placed in position after all had passed through, as it was reported that they were sadly neglected at the last mooting. It was agreed that a start be made from the Yaldhurat Hotel, at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, and the first braoe of dogs to be in the Blips not later than 9 30. A start will be made on Mr Saunders' land at West Melton. It is reported that there is plenty of hares, and if such is the case a splendid day's sport may be anticipated. The following acceptances were received : St. Lsqke.—For an unlimited number of puppies, at 10s fid nomination, 10a Gd acceptance; closed with seventeen subscribers. The stakes to be divided as follows :—First dog, .£9 9a; runner up, X j 5s ; third dog, £3 3s. Bed. White. Fun meets Yaldhnrst. Sea Foam ... ~ Barbelle. Master Sam ... ~ Templeton. Miss Ridley ... ~ Leo. Little Nell Harewood. Soy ~ Black Boy. Master Willie... ~ Lelox. Blackbird runs a bye. Members' Plate. —For an unlimited number of all aged dogs, at 10s 6d nomination, 10s Gd acceptance ; closed with seventeen subscribers.
